Good News
I was back at the kidney specialist’s office yesterday. Good news: it is not time to begin the testing to be on the transplant waiting list. Yea! The majority of my lab results were looking positive. The slight anemia I previously had is gone and my kidney function is relatively stable. Given my level of kidney function, I am as healthy as can be. The goal now is to keep my blood pressure well controlled, eat a healthy diet and keep up with the positive thinking. I was told that I was a “model patient,” doing my part to love my kidney the best I can. My husband, Phillip, and I celebrated with holiday themed cupcakes, yummmmmyyyyyy! Cupcakes are not technically on my new food plan, but a celebration is a celebration after all.
My next follow-up is in six months. In the doctor’s eyes, my function will inevitably go downhill; his goal is to make that decent as slow as possible. In my eyes, I know that miracles are possible. Our body is comprised of 100% energy, and energy is fluid, it can change, regenerate. It is with that in mind that I continue to repeat my affirmation: “I am renewed and restored to perfect health, mind, body and soul.”
