Quotes... “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” -Leo Tolstoy “Vision without action is daydream. Action without vision is nightmare.” - Japanese Proverb “Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes but don't quit.” - Conrad Hilton How to Bring Your Affirmations to Life Affirmations are traditionally thought of as words. Words with magical powers to change your life. If you say your affirmations enough, things are going to change. This isn’t true. Sorry. Affirmations have incredible power, but not in the way you think. The words in your affirmation are only a prompting. They will bring your awareness to the thing(s) in life that you want to change. As your awareness moves toward your health, finances, relationship, etc…, you will notice that your intuition becomes more sensitive to actions that you can take to manifest your affirmation. A book may catch your attention, a friend will tell you about an idea they have, you’ll hear about a new exercise program, you’ll discover a trusted investment vehicle; it could be anything that you feel will move in you in the direction you have been affirming you want to go. It is up to you to follow where you are being lead. Some of the affirmations in my life have been about my health. As I began affirming health in my life, I had many promptings to adopt a vegan diet. First it was a book a friend recommended, next a doctor confirmed that becoming vegan would be good given my specific challenges, then I watched a program on it, read two more books and watched another program. It took me a bit to clue into the idea that my affirmation about health was manifesting through a prompting to change my diet. I was not a quick learner. It was two full years before I adopted the change wholeheartedly, at every meal. Your affirmations may push you in a direction you are reluctant to go. If you find that you’ve been saying your affirmations consistently and nothing is changing, look to see if there is an action you need to take. Has something continued to come into your life that you’ve ignored or pushed away? Maybe this is your affirmation trying to come true. For me it was my diet, for you it may be something entirely different. I am just asking you to look and see what you find. Words coupled with action is a true life of affirmation. You can read lots more about my health journey in my book which will be released next summer. Stay tuned… Journal Exercise What action are you being prompted to take? How will you implement this change? See how easily you can change your diet… If, like I did, you are getting a prompting to change your diet, I would love to recommend a book for you. Kris Carr is a New York Times best-selling author, wellness activist and cancer thriver. She has teamed up with Chef Chad Sarno to create a cookbook that will rock your world. When I thought about changing my diet, I really felt like I would be giving up yummy food. This could not be further from the truth. Plant based eating can be completely crave-able food. We started our weekend with vegan French toast with amaraetto crème from Kris’ new cookbook. Check it out: Look yummy? It was delicious.
